Welcome to the 2012-2013 school year

at CCC!

This week we will be exploring the letter J and the Rainforest including the animals that make the it their home, the climate and it's features.

Providing children with many opportunities to have books read to them is an important ingredient for developing literacy skills. Some of the books our children will experience this week include A Snake Grows Up, Rainforest Homes, Amazon Sun Amazon Rain, and many more.

What animals live in the rainforest? What foods grow in the rainforest? Ask your children at the end of this week and they will know!

We will be using visual descrimination to match animal tracks. We will be sorting animals by where they live in the rainforest. We will use rain gages to measure our precipitation.

As we learn about our senses we will be using our eyes in a memory game, sorting textures in a touching game, guessing the smell in an odor game, we will have a sound guessing game and  so much more.

We will be exploring words that begin with the letter O. We will be decorating letter O's and stringing O's and O so much more!

Please remember your senses project.
