What are the responsibilities of a member of the Board?

Board members are responsible for guiding the organization by establishing policies crucial to the life of the organization. This includes developing policies that protect the financial health and fiscal integrity of the organization; active fundraising; organizational planning; public relations; and personnel and other policies related to the overall direction and conduct of the organization.  Board members are not involved in day-to-day management or operations of the Centers. 

 Board members are expected to contribute their professional skills to the organization in areas such as accounting, law, business, marketing and public relations, human resources, architecture and facilities management, law, advocacy, etc.   CCC also seeks to reflect diversity in its Board in order to enhance the ability to serve our diverse constituencies. 

 Board members are expected to attend all meetings (held monthly), to participate in annual Board training workshops, and to participate as an active member of at least one subcommittee.   Terms of service are three years beginning in January.
